Transforming Education with Cutting-Edge Machinery: The Sodick ALC600G Installation at ANU, Canberra

A very busy few days in Canberra this week at The Australian National University installing their brand new Sodick ALC600G EDM Wirecut with iGroove technology.

This is the first iGroove equipped machine in Australia. iGroove is a new patented technology from Sodick that allows the wire to be rotated during cutting, allowing the workpiece to be machined from top to bottom using the “unconsumed” surface of the wire allowing for increased surface quality and geometric accuracy, whilst at the same time minimising wire consumption to minimise the environmental impact and cost to the customer.

This ALC600G will not just be used within the University for manufacturing, but will also be used for teaching students new machining processes and techniques.

James Machinery is proud to support Australian manufacturing and education by providing the highest quality and technologically advanced machines available.
